| A variable deciduous tree from China and Southeast Asia, with dark green | |
| pinnate leaves (in Summer), 8 to 12 pairs of leaflets, turning orange-yellow, in | |
| fall, and rosy pink new growth (in Spring). (In China is called red toona.) | |
| Chinese toona sprouts are a nutritional, healthy gourmet vegetable and are very | |
| popular in China. The fresh young leaves and shoots contain nature anti-oxidant, | |
| protein & Vitamin C, A, B2, excellent for stir fry with egg, salad, seasoning, etc. | |
| It needs full sun or partial shade. Average water needs, do not overwater. | |
| The soil pH requirements are 6.1 to 6.5 (mildly acidic),6.6 to 7.5 (neutral), or 7.6 | |
| to 7.8 (mildly alkaline). | |
| It will be 30 ft wide, 40 ft tall at maturity. If you like to pick the leaves and shoots | |
| easier, we recommend to cut the height to 5'~6' every year in the late Fall or | |
| early Spring. | |
